上海mint,向Mint开发者致敬

p { margin-bottom: 0.21cm; }     大家知道， Mint 是一种十分优秀的 Linux 桌面，是盗版 XP 的替代物。为什么要向 Mint 开发者致敬呢？道理何在？

          在去年圣诞节前不久，在 Linux 桌面全球排行榜上， Mint 的关注度（所谓“人气”）一举超越 Fedora ，全球排名第二，仅次于 Ubuntu 操作系统。看起来， Mint 与 Fedora 两者之间的差距还要继续拉大，这是客观事实，无可否认。这一点，来之不易也。
在去年 10 月 10 日 Ubuntu 10.10 发布之前，我一直使用 Mint 桌面进行写作，对其细微之处有切身的体会。令人没有想到的是，从去年下半开始， Mint 开发团队突然发力，接连推出几款新版本，比如： Mint 10 和 Mint Debian 等，让人大开眼界，刮目相看。 Mint 开发者有什么抱负呢？
         我对 Mint 开发者自己的说法很感兴趣，他们竟然敢这么说：“ Started in 2006, Linux Mint is now the 4th most widely used home operating system behind Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS and Canonical's Ubuntu” ，把 Mint 与微软的 Windows 、苹果的 Mac O S 和 Ubuntu 相提并论，没有什么不好意思。实际上，这帮家伙倒是挺可爱的，说的也是大实话，有统计数字做根据，不可否认。
 
     Mint 开发者有何秘诀？他们自己总结出以下 5 点：
 
     1 、 It works out of the box, with full multimedia support and is extremely easy to use.

2 、 It's both free of cost and open source.
3 、 It's community-driven. Users are encouraged to send feedback to the project so that their ideas can be used to improve Linux Mint.

4 、 Based on Debian and Ubuntu, it provides about 30,000 packages and _disibledevent=>5 、 It's safe and reliable. Thanks to a conservative approach to software updates, a unique Update Manager and the robustness of its Linux architecture, Linux Mint requires very little maintenance ( no regressions （退化现象） , no anti-virus, no anti-spyware...etc).

我们仔细想想 ， Mint 开发者说的也有 确 道理，方方面面都照顾到了，没有据功自傲，小瞧别人。 Mint 开发团队的目标是“ to produce a modern, elegant and comfortable operating system which is both powerful and easy to use” ，说得一点也不夸张，实事求是。

让我最佩服一点的是， Mint 开发团队竟然敢这么说：“ Linux Mint is free of cost and doesn't generate any direct sort of income. It is funded by advertising, sponsoring and donations （捐助） and although it is financially supported by its own community of users, its ambition （抱负） is to compete with projects which are backed by large companies such as Microsoft, Apple, RedHat, Novell and Canonical“ ，也就是说， Mint 开发团队只靠他们自己的力量（就那么一点点资源）敢与微软，苹果，红帽等大牌公司玩一玩、比一比 ，令人 佩服之至也！在这个世界上 ，还有什么人有这个胆量？我不知道。

Mint 奠基人是一位法裔爱尔兰工程师，叫“ Clement Lefebvre” ，大家都亲切地称呼他为“ Clem” ，非常平易近人，精于钻研技术 ，确实是一位技术天才人物。世界各地 Mint 用户都喜欢捐助这个项目， 捐助金额多数从 1 美元起，多的也有几百美元，每个月都公布捐助的帐目，清清楚楚，毫不含糊，比如，去年 10 月份，总共接受捐助 5,283 美元，比前年同期 3,828 美元增加了不少。美国人捐助的款项占捐助总额的 40% ，英国人占 10% ，德国人占 8% ，加拿大人占 7% ，法国人占 4% ， ...... 我国人究竟捐助了多少，我不知道。明天上午 ，我准备叫孩子也捐助 1 美元，无非是一碗豆腐脑儿加两根油条，表示一下我的心意就是了。

在此 ，我向 Mint 开发者们致以真诚的敬意！想想 Clem ，某些人心中不觉得很惭愧吗？耗费了多少国家资源 ，你的产品何在？
